The Story

A cursed Outsider called Teacher raises a human girl, Shiva, in a forest that both their worlds fear. In this arc Auntie returns, reveals how Shiva came to live with her, and explains the fate waiting for everyone touched by the curse. The house gets more crowded and stranger by the day, and Teacher has to decide how much truth a child can carry.

Why Read It

Nagabe's ink-heavy, storybook art is the draw: every page looks like a woodcut. The deluxe edition's larger trim and hardcover binding suit it better than the paperbacks, and three volumes per book means the whole 11-volume series fits in four hardcovers.

Do I need Deluxe Edition I first?

Yes. This is the second of four omnibus hardcovers and continues directly from volume 3.

Is it the same content as the paperbacks?

Same chapters, larger format, with the volumes' color pages included.

Who is it for?

Readers who liked The Promised Neverland, Somali and the Forest Spirit, or Edward Gorey.
