Our Guarantees & Shipping Promise
We stand behind every order. Here's exactly what we promise, and where the limits are — because a guarantee you can't keep isn't a guarantee.
Two kinds of books, two sets of terms
Some titles we hold in the shop. Others are special order — printed and shipped direct from our distributor's warehouse, which is how we can offer a catalog this deep without pretending to stock 16,000 books.
Every product page tells you which is which. The terms differ, and we'd rather be upfront than surprise you at the worst moment.
In-Stock Titles
30-Day Returns
Not happy? Return it within 30 days for a full refund. Original shipping is non-refundable.
Damage-Free Guarantee
These ship from us, in rigid mailers with protective padding, wrapped individually. If anything arrives damaged, send photos and we'll replace it free.
Quality Guarantee
We handle these books ourselves. If you receive a defective or misrepresented item, we'll make it right within 30 days.
Shipping
- Standard: 3–7 business days, with tracking
Special Order Titles
Damage or Defect — Covered
If your book arrives damaged or with a printing defect, contact us within 14 days of delivery with clear photos of the book and the packaging. We'll arrange a free replacement or a full refund.
That 14-day window is firm — it's set by our distributor and we can't extend it. Photograph anything wrong the day it lands.
Lost in Transit — Covered
If tracking shows no movement for 15 days, tell us and we'll reship to the same address at no cost.
Change of Mind — Not Available
Special order books can't be returned because you changed your mind, ordered the wrong volume, or decided you didn't want it after all. They're printed and dispatched for your order specifically, and once they leave the warehouse there's nowhere for them to go back to.
Check the volume number and edition before you order. Long-running series have confusingly similar covers, and we'd rather answer a question now than say no to you later. If you're unsure which volume you need, ask us first — we read these books and we're happy to help.
Address Accuracy Matters
If a package is returned because the address was incomplete or incorrect, we can't recover the order and a refund isn't possible. You'd need to reorder with the corrected address. Double-check your address at checkout, especially apartment and unit numbers.
Shipping
- Flat $7 per order — as many books as you want, one charge
- Typically 5–10 business days; allow up to 14 during peak periods or severe weather
- Print-on-demand titles take longer, as they're printed after you order
- All orders include tracking
Special order books ship from our distributor's warehouse in their packaging, not ours. It's sound packaging — but it won't have our mailers or our padding, and we won't claim otherwise.
Pre-Orders
Pre-orders can be cancelled any time before the Final Order Cut Off date shown on the product page. After FOC passes, the order is locked with the publisher and can't be cancelled.
Shipping Destinations
We ship to the United States and its territories only. We can't ship internationally at this time.
Why we wrote it this way
Plenty of shops promise 30-day no-questions returns on books they can't actually take back, then argue with you when you try. We'd rather tell you the real terms up front and keep every promise on this page.
