The Pull List — Monday, August 10, 2026: Spider-Man & Ghost Rider Share a Birthday, Kylo Ren Falls Wednesday
Share
📅 This Day in Comic History
- 1962: Amazing Fantasy #15 hit newsstands — the debut of Spider-Man by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. August 10 is the traditionally cited on-sale date for the most important teenage-hero introduction ever printed. Marvel is counting down to a landmark of its own: Amazing Spider-Man #1000 arrives September 16.
- 1972: Exactly ten years later to the day, Marvel Spotlight #5 introduced Johnny Blaze, the flame-skulled Ghost Rider, from Gary Friedrich, Mike Ploog, and Roy Thomas. According to Key Collector Comics, the issue was published August 10, 1972.
Two icons, one calendar date, a decade apart. If today isn't a good day to read comics, no day is.
