The Pull List — June 17, 2026: Spider-Man: Long Way Home #1 Swings In

Good morning, and welcome to The Pull List for Wednesday, June 17, 2026 — your daily stop for what is shipping, what is worth watching, and what folks at the shop are buzzing about.

📅 This Day in Comic History

  • 1996 — Curt Swan, the artist most associated with Superman through the Silver and Bronze Ages, passed away on this date. According to Wikipedia, Swan drew somewhere around 1,140 stories across the Superman family of titles between 1948 and 1996, which is a fair claim to being the definitive Man of Steel artist for a couple of generations of readers. A good day to revisit a classic Superman key.
  • 1957 — Inker and artist Hilary Barta was born on this date. According to Wikipedia, Barta cut his teeth inking Marvel books such as The Defenders and most of the first ten issues of John Byrne's The Thing in the early 1980s before moving over to First Comics and later lending his style to a long list of titles.

Spider-Man: Long Way Home #1 lands today, and it pairs two creators with serious pedigree. According to Marvel, the book puts Peter Parker on the road alongside Frank Castle and Bruce Banner as they try to keep a Cosmic Cube away from the people who would misuse it, with the story handled by writer Jonathan Hickman and artist Adam Kubert. It is the kind of high-concept team-up that tends to get talked about well past its release week, and first prints of a Hickman-launched title are usually worth grabbing early. We have the Dave Johnson foil variant up for pre-order while supplies last.

🔥 The Trillion Dollar Kid #1 (of 2) — According to Image Comics, this is the first crossover event for the Ghost Machine universe, from Geoff Johns, Peter J. Tomasi, and artist Stefano Simeone. It follows Tommy Townsend III, billed as the world's first thirteen-year-old trillionaire, and his robot bodyguard as he learns money cannot buy everything. According to Bleeding Cool, Johns is confident enough in the book that he made a public buy-back offer to retailers — the kind of move that tends to put extra eyes on a first issue. If you like the connected, creator-owned world of Geiger and Redcoat, you will love this. We have Cover A by Francis Manapul up for pre-order.

🗡 Rumor Mill

The following is unconfirmed and should be treated as rumor until officially announced.

  • RM-001 (June 17, 2026): According to ongoing reporting, there is chatter that Jean Grey could turn up in Spider-Man: Brand New Day this July, though Marvel has not officially confirmed it.

P.S.

Here is one to chew on: per Wikipedia, Curt Swan drew roughly 1,140 Superman-family stories over a near half-century career — proof that consistency, panel after panel, is its own kind of superpower.
