ROM lands in the Energon Universe β hidden inside M.A.S.K. #1 blind bags. According to Image Comics and reporting across CBR, Bleeding Cool, AIPT and The Beat, Skybound quietly tucked a full ROM #1 into the blind-bag program for M.A.S.K. #1, marking the classic Space Knight's first appearance in this shared world. The surprise issue reunites Void Rivals co-creators Robert Kirkman and Lorenzo De Felici, and the bags also hide rare variant covers mixed in at varying odds. For collectors, a debut appearance buried in randomized packaging is exactly the kind of signal that moves fast β and the thread continues, with the publisher pointing readers toward Void Rivals #33 for more.

According to Bleeding Cool's framing of the M.A.S.K. blind-bag surprise, the door is open for more β but nothing beyond ROM has been confirmed by the publisher, so treat any specific name as speculation for now.

Fun fact for the longbox crowd: ROM started life in 1979 not as a comic but as a Parker Brothers electronic action figure β yet the Marvel series it spawned ran a remarkable 75 issues and turned the Space Knight into a cult favorite long after the toy left shelves.
