The Beat reports that the estate of Dave Stevens filed a notice of copyright termination against Disney's rights to The Rocketeer, which is allowed because 35 years have passed since the 1991 film. Unless a new deal is reached, Disney's window to create new Rocketeer media ends June 12, 2028.

The only Rocketeer media since 1991 was the 2019 Disney Junior cartoon, which featured Billy Campbell as Cliff Secord's grandson, Dave. Reported by The Beat, not confirmed by Disney.
