DC has laid out its full plan for Comic-Con International in San Diego, and the theme this year is the 1950s — the next stop in the publisher's decade-by-decade march toward its 100th anniversary. According to DC's announcement on July 8, the expanded booth (#4544) runs from Preview Night on July 22 through July 26 and includes a Daily Planet-style newsstand handing out a free MAD Magazine #1 facsimile with vintage ads from the archives. According to Bleeding Cool, the show will also feature convention-exclusive foil covers across the Absolute Universe line, the annual Jim Lee & Friends panel, and a citywide "Unlock DC" rewards program. If the Absolute foils have you curious about that corner of DC, this week's Absolute Batman #22 is a strong on-ramp — and we have it in stock.

🔥 Jeff the Land Shark: Superstar #1 (Marvel) — Kelly Thompson and artist Tokitokoro kick off a five-issue miniseries in which the X-Men villain Mojo kidnaps Marvel's favorite pet — and his sticky-fingered pal Ken — to build his next ratings hit. The Gurihiru cover alone is a keeper, and first solo-adjacent minis for breakout characters like Jeff tend to draw collector attention. If you like It's Jeff! or Thompson's West Coast Avengers, you will love this.
