Burton's Batmobile Heads to Auction

Julien's Auctions and Turner Classic Movies announced the sale on October 28. It runs November 23 in Los Angeles and online. The headline lot is the Batmobile from Tim Burton's 1992 Batman Returns, built by Carl Casper from two Chevrolet Impala chassis. It is about 19 feet 8 inches long and has a radio-controlled flaming exhaust.

Other lots: Michael Keaton's Batman Returns cowl ($10,000 to $15,000), Christian Bale's screen-worn Dark Knight cowl ($20,000 to $30,000), Keaton's 1989 chest emblem ($5,000 to $7,000), Jack Nicholson's unused Joker facial appliance ($1,000 to $2,000), Alicia Silverstone's Batgirl cowl ($8,000 to $10,000) and Ben Affleck's Batman v Superman Batarang ($3,000 to $5,000). Lanterns VFX Reel Shows What Is Fake

VFX house CoSA VFX shared a reel of the hidden work in HBO's Lanterns. The show was shot in California, and nearly every background was replaced so it reads as rural Nebraska. Even John Stewart's beard was a visual effect.
ComicBookMovie.com says the series cost a reported $160 million, which would make it one of HBO's most expensive shows. That figure is a report. The cast includes Kyle Chandler, Aaron Pierre and Kelly Macdonald, and the full season is streaming on HBO Max.
DC Studios co-CEO Peter Safran on a second season: "If we're able to come up with what we believe to be a worthy successor to a beloved and great first season, that's what's going to dictate whether there's a second season." He also said the show "brought Green Lantern back into the conversation." Showrunner Chris Mundy has suggested a second season would be another grounded story.

Doomsday Doom Poster Reportedly Spotted

ComicBookMovie.com reports the first character poster for Avengers: Doomsday was spotted at an activation overseas and shared in a post on X. It is an unofficial sighting, not a Marvel release.
The poster shows Robert Downey Jr. as Victor Von Doom with the Sentinels looming behind him. ComicBookMovie.com says it sells Doom as the biggest of the big bads. There had been talk that Marvel might present him as an ally to the heroes first.
The movie opens December 18, directed by the Russo Brothers. ComicBookMovie.com expects Marvel to ramp up promotion in November and says Doomsday is competing with Dune: Part Three, and to a lesser degree Jumanji: Open World, to be December's must-see event.

VisionQuest: Madripoor Episode, Punisher Fight Report
![]()
Spoilers. In VisionQuest episode six, "Deadlock," Paladin lures Vision and Lisa to Madripoor by taking Tommy hostage. Raza Hamidmi al-Wazar (Faran Tahir), the Ten Rings leader from 2008's Iron Man, ambushes them at the order of the mysterious "Client." ComicBookMovie.com's pick for the Client is Sharon Carter, the Power Broker from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and it says other names are possible. The penultimate episode is next week.
The report: an insider on X posting as MyTimeToShineHello answered a fan with "They will fight," pointing to Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle against Paladin. The theory comes from a line where Paladin calls a past fight "just a punishing disagreement with an old friend." SuperHeroHype notes Marvel has not confirmed the fight or the Punisher's appearance. Bernthal's latest MCU appearance was in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
